Ronald Eugene Rhodes, also lovingly known as "Ronnie", a beloved husband, father, brother, grandpa, great grandpa, and friend, passed away on November 24, 2025, in Sunnyvale, Texas, at the age of 81. Born on November 21, 1944, in Houston, Texas, Ronald was the son of Thelma and L.D. “Dusty” Rhodes.
He married Eva Ellison Rhodes on April 10, 1985, and together they shared nearly 41 fun and impactful years filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories. A true entrepreneur at heart, he served as President and Owner of Bowling & Billiard Supplies of Dallas, Inc., a successful family-owned company founded in 1960 by his father, L.D. “Dusty” Rhodes. After his father’s passing in 1976, Ronnie assumed leadership as President, guiding the business to employ over 150 people and leaving a lasting impact on the bowling and billiard industry as well as the business community.
Ronnie’s passion for bowling earned him a place in both the Dallas and Texas Bowling Halls of Fame. He achieved four perfect 300 games and two 800 series, accomplishments that reflected his dedication and skill. Beyond his achievements, Ronnie was known for his generosity and willingness to help anyone in need. His kindness and leadership touched hundreds of friends, colleagues, and associates.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, L.D. “Dusty” Rhodes and Thelma Rhodes. He is survived by his devoted wife, Eva Rhodes; his children Edward “Eddie” Rhodes and Shelley Joyce Rhodes (Brad Copeland and son Cody); his sister Brenda Rhodes; niece Wendi Lawson (Rex Lawson); great-nephew Lorenzo Benavides; stepdaughters April Lyn Redd and Shelley Dawn Robinson (Kasy Robinson); eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren: Shawn and Heather Redd, Blake Redd and son, Hunter and Katelynn Rhodes and three daughters, Trevor and Jayde Rhodes and daughter, only granddaughter Jordyn and Caine Robbins and three sons, Mason and Abby Berryhill and two sons, Jett Robinson and fiancé Maddy McCue, and Payton Carter (Rhodes).
