Ronald Dale Smith's Obituary
Ronald “Ron” Dale Smith, born Nov 16, 1935. Ron grew up in Coffeyville, KS. He came to Dallas on a full scholarship to Southern Methodist University for diving. While at SMU, Ron was named All American diving champion 3 times, earned the USA National Champion Gold Medal, and went to Melbourne, Australia as a member of the 1956 US Olympic Dive Team. Ron passed Wednesday, Feb 3, 2016. His wife, Ouida; daughters Sutton Bryant & Shannon Knotts; son Todd; 10 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild survive him. He is preceded in death by his oldest son Ron II & his youngest son, Gill. Services will be held Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 11 AM at Restland Memorial Chapel, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas.
