Ronald "Ron" Threadgill's Obituary
Ronald (Ron) Threadgill passed away on April 6, 2023 from complications after a fierce and courageous 3-year battle with thymic carcinoma.
Ron was born February 17, 1952 in Dallas, TX to Jim and Irene Threadgill.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 2 sisters, Virginia and Phyllis and his 2 brothers John and Steven. He is survived by his wife Susan Threadgill of Dallas, daughter Rachel (Reese) Threadgill of Dallas, stepdaughters Cindy Burroughs Hill of Dallas and Melissa Burroughs Karlberg (and EJ) of Kansas City, grandsons Canon Hill, Noah Bartolomei and Hansen Karlberg, granddaughters Lily Hill and Mila Karlberg, nephews Brian Threadgill of Carrollton and James Dayton Threadgill of Las Vegas, NV, and niece Cheryl Diane Becerra.
Ron attended Hillcrest High School and the University of Texas at Austin. He was in the insurance business for many years before establishing Business Insurance Guild to better serve his clients. Ron was a devoted husband, father and uncle. He loved traveling with his wife to places he had never been before, with Tamarindo, Costa Rica being one of his favorite destinations.
He had a passion for refurbishing older sports and classic cars and riding motorcycles through the countryside with friends. He was dedicated to his family and was always there to provide support to those in need. He had a Certification Intercostal Sailing license and loved sailing. Ron always had a project at home whether it was cutting down a tree, hanging holiday decorations or doing home improvements.
In accordance with Ron’s wishes, he was cremated and family and friends will meet in the summer for a Celebration of Life to honor his memory.
