Ronnie L. Davis…One of a Kind
“…Well done, thou good and faithful servant; enter thou into the joy of the Lord.” (Matthew 25.23)
Ronnie Linwood Davis, a loving and caring husband, father, brother, grandfather, and cousin, transitioned from his earthly life on Tuesday, August 3, 2021.
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given.” (Isaiah 9:6)
Ronnie was born March 22, 1956, to proud parents – Carlton Davis and Beatrice Davis in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the oldest of two children. Ronnie graduated from Shaker Heights High school in 1974. He attended The University of Akron where he became a proud and very involved member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He graduated from The University of Akron in 1980 with a B.A. degree in Mass Media-Communication. He also received an A.A. degree in Criminal Justice Technology. He briefly served in the U.S. Coast Guard and went on to serve in the U.S. Naval reserve from 1977-1993. Ronnie enjoyed a long-time career in Medical Sales and Training. His most recent position was with US Radiology as a Regional Trainer. Ronnie enjoyed music, trying new foods, live concerts, traveling, new adventures with his wife, Asonya, serving his community and “anything” that had to do with Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
“And the two shall become one flesh, so that they are no longer two, but one flesh” (Mark 10:8)
Ronnie met Asonya, the love of his life, in May 2006 at the ASTD International Conference held in Dallas, TX. After an immediate connection and a short courtship, they were married on June 7, 2007, on the beach in Negril, Jamaica and were happily married for 14 years.

God was the source and strength of his life, and Ronnie was never one to hide his faith. He trusted God with all his heart and served him faithfully. Ronnie was baptized at an early age. He has held several leadership positions within the church and most recently served on the Welcome Committee – Greeter. Ronnie is an active life member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., were he served with his whole heart. He is a beloved member of the McKinney Chief of Police Advisory Council. He was a charter member of the NAACP Collin County Chapter where he held the 1st Vice President position, and previously served as Vice President of the Claude R. Platte DFW Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.
“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.” (Psalm 116.15)
Ronnie was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Davis and his father, Carlton Davis.
“For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord…” (Genesis 18:19)
Ronnie leaves his most cherished memories to his loving wife, Asonya Davis; daughter, RiAnn Davis, grandson, Amare Starling, sister, Dolly Davis and three special cousins: Eugene Guyton (Gloria), Mitchell Guyton; Derek Moore and a host of loving family, friends, fraternity brothers and co-workers.
