Rosa Mae Spurlock's Obituary
Rosa was born on July 28, 1928 in Pittsburg, TX, to Ebb and Vera Ferguson, and reared in Newsome, TX. She graduated from Winnsboro High School, then attended business school in Dallas where she and her husband-to-be, Marvin Spurlock, met and fell in love. Rosa was preceded in death by Marvin, her husband of 49 yrs, and her daughter, Gwen Hudson. She is survived by daughters, Sharon McCants and husband Don, Johanna Laura and husband Joe, son in law Scott Hudson and wife Stacey, five grandchildren, Mark McCants and wife Annette, Leann McCants, Terry McCants, Adrienne McCormick and husband Patrick and Rachel McGee and husband Adam; four great grandchildren; sister Frances Sustaire and husband Don, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rosa and Marvin’s family was their first concern. They enjoyed traveling, music, and being with their children and grandchildren. She retired as a secretary at Mountain View College Fine Arts Division. Rosa was a strong Christian who loved the Lord and her church, Windsor Park Baptist, where she was active in Adult Bible Study. Funeral Service will take place at 3:00 pm on Monday, June 22, 2015 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Windsor Park Baptist Church, PO Box 1300, DeSoto, TX 75223.
