Rose Alyce Beasley's Obituary
Rose Alyce Beasley died peacefully at the age of 86 on September 2, 2021, in Dallas, Texas after a brief illness. She was born to Raymond and Julia Brooks on July 26, 1935, in Whitewater, Missouri. She had two sisters: Helen Marguerite Witt and Julia Juanita Hogue.
Rose Alyce graduated from Sunset High School in 1953. She earned a BA in English and Art from Southern Methodist University in 1957. She married John Farley Beasley that same year. They were married for 59 years until his death in 2016.
She had a wide variety of interests: reading, arts and crafts, traveling, and genealogy. She was an excellent seamstress and an avid cheerleader for her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. She loved gathering her family about her to celebrate birthdays and holidays. Camping was a favorite family pastime.
But what Rose Alyce would want to be remembered for most is her teaching. She taught for over 40 years, working long past retirement age, because she loved teaching the children. Being in the classroom with them brought her much delight.
She is survived by her children: Patricia (Michael) Lambert, Robert Beasley, Stacey (Robert) Furst; grandchildren: John Beasley, Mary Lambert, Jessye Beasley, Anna (Caleb) Carroll, Bradley Furst, Elisa Lambert, and Kendall Furst; great grandson: Jonathan Jude Sandy.
She is preceded in death by her husband John Beasley, her parents, her two sisters, and her friend of 60 years, Liz Lyons.
Burial will be at Restland Cemetery on September 10 at 9:30 a.m.
