Rose Marie Nall's Obituary
NALL, ROSE MARIE MARTIN died on the 26th day of November, 2012. She was 82 years young. She was affectionately called Rosie for her warm, broad and captivating smile. She leaves behind her loving husband of 63 years, Joe of the home; daughter Marilyn Lake and son-in-law Robert of Lake Quivira, KS; daughter Katie Nall of Baumholder, Germany; plus two adored grandchildren Justin Lake of Roeland Park, KS, and Rebecca Lake of Lake Quivira, KS. Rosie was born and raised in Austin, TX, and attended Austin public schools as well as Queens College in Charlotte, North Carolina. In 1949 she married Joe Murray Nall, and provided him with untold assistance in completing his engineering degree. She twice served as president of ASCE Wives in Dallas and also as president of the Professional Engineers Wives in Dallas. She was the “go-to” person when the need arose to entertain visiting engineers and their wives at local meetings. She was looking forward to helping with the 100th Anniversary meeting of the Texas Section of Civil Engineers in Dallas next year. In all of her endeavors Rosie was an active participant. She worked in various state offices and two separate terms of the Texas Legislature as Secretary to a Representative in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s. She was President, along with her husband of the Franklin Jr. High PTA in the 1970’s. She was a Girl Scout Troop leader (#985) of a group of girls that continues in fellowship to this very day. She worked on the White Rocker Newspaper for ten years as a typist in the 1980’s, and also as a Docent at Old City Park. She loved her Northridge Presbyterian Church family where she taught Sunday School and sang in the Chancel Choir for 50 years. She also served on the Northridge Church Session and chaired the Fellowship Committee. She was honored to serve as an Elder delegate to the Quarterly Meeting of the Presbytery last weekend. A memorial service to celebrate life will be held at Northridge Presbyterian Church, 6920 Bob-O-link Drive, Dallas, TX, 75214, on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 4:00pm. The Reverend Ben Dorr will be officiating. The family requests all memorial contributions to Northridge Presbyterian Church.
