Rose Rolnick's Obituary
ROLNICK, ROSE age 103, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2014 in Dallas, Texas. Rose was born October 20, 1910 in Montreal, Canada to Faye Tannenbaum Burr and Alfred Burr. She attended the Paddington and Chricklewood schools in London, England. She moved to Dallas, Texas in 1929 with her family. She was married in 1933 to founder and former president and CEO of Resistol Hats, Harry Rolnick. She had one daughter, Barbara Ann Rolnick Love. She was a generous and loving person blessed with many friends. She will be missed, but always lovingly remembered, especially for her sense of humor, love of travel, and passion for the arts. She was a member of Temple Emanuel, Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas Theatre Center, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and a volunteer for the Dallas Taping for the Blind. Rose was preceded in death by parents Faye Tannenbaum Burr and Alfred Burr, husband Harry Rolnick, beloved daughter Barbara Ann Rolnick Love, stepsons Jerry Rolnick and wife Joan Rolnick, Maury Rolnick, brother Harry George Burr, and great nephew Jonathan Burr Betts. She is survived by her loving and devoted sister-in-law Ruth Burr, who watched over all of her needs, niece Deborah Burr Evans and husband John Evans, great niece Hayley Evans Fournier and husband Carter Fournier, great nephew Preston Evans, niece Wendy Burr Gaule and husband Mike Gaule, great niece Jenna Gaule and great nephew Griffin Gaule, niece Jan Burr, Susan Fassburg Shafton, and Terry Fassburg of New York. Friend and son-in-law, Robert Love of California, and grandchildren Laura Rolnick Siegel, Jennifer Rolnick, Michael Rolnick, Kyle Rolnick, Neil Rolnick, and Bryan Rolnick. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Gabby Maria Contreras, Merle Hill and Willa Yost, her loving caregivers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, TX. Cryptside service will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Restland Chapel Gardens Mausoleum.
