Roseanne Carroll's Obituary
Roseanne (Rosie) was born December 31, 1927 to Lloyd Francis and Irene Catherine Ryan in Parsons, Kansas and passed away June 16, 2008 at her home. She moved with her family to Dallas in 1943 and graduated from Highland Park High School. She then attended SMU where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, and graduated with a degree in English Literature. She married Malcolm W. Carroll in 1954 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Together they raised their four children, Mike, Jay, Cathy and Laura. Roseanne was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and Altar Society, the Dallas Woman’s Club, Dallas Garden Club, Village Gardeners, Dallas Dinner Dance Club, Heritage Club, Book and Drama Review Club, Mary K. Craig Class, Calliope Dance Club, Gambado Dance Club, Dallas Museum of Art, Meadows Museum of Art, Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club, Dallas County Heritage Society, and Old City Park. She was a former member of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League, Thalia Club, S’Amuser Dance Club, Nexus, and Northwood Club. As beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside, Roseanne lived her life with extraordinary grace and charm. With her positive attitude and cheerful spirit, she was beloved by all who knew her. She lived her faith in her kind and loving treatment of everyone she encountered. Roseanne delighted in her family and many friends who will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her parents, and brother, Lloyd Ryan. She is survived by Malcolm, her loving husband of 54 years, and children Mike Carroll, Jay and Kim Carroll, Cathy and Kyle Ogden, all of the Dallas, TX area, and Laura and Russell McNiece of Baton Rouge, LA, and her eleven grandchildren are Christina Snelling, Elizabeth Tippit, Michael Carroll, Marilee and Christopher Carroll, Layne, Callie, Truett and Lollie Ogden, and Malcolm and Coleman McNiece. She has two great grandchildren, Tyler and Caleb Tippit. Visitation will be at Restland Funeral Home on Wednsday evening at 6:30pm with the Vigil Service at Restland Memorial Chapel beginning at 7:30pm.
