The Peffer family and the Schoenewald family began their adventures together in Anaco Venezuela. Mr. Peffer was a geophysicist for Socony (later renamed Mobil Oil) and my father was a geologist also for Socony. These men by virtue of their professions were the first on location in the discovery of oil fields. Others would come. Our families followed each other through the various Continents through their assignments, through the years and ended up two doors down from each other on Mossvine Drive in Dallas Texas. I could always rely on Mrs. Peffer for whatever a young boy needed for advice etc. and beyond my teenage years and into my middle age. Like my mother, nothing got passed Mrs. Peffer. There was no nonsense! I remember at my mother's wake many years ago I remarked to her, "Mrs. Peffer, in all my years I've never seen you with a beer in your hand!" And her reply was, "It's your dad's, I am holding it, he just lost his best friend." It was amazing to watch the Peffer family grow and grow. The glue was Mrs. Peffer. I will always feel that I am one of the luckiest people knowing Mrs. Peffer and her family. I am dedicated to our family friendship, especially to Susie. We are the same age. God Bless you Mrs. Peffer and your whole family. Rest in Peace...Daniel Schoenewald
