Ross Mclarty's Obituary
MCLARTY, ROSS D beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, passed away May 20, 2007 at the age of 89. Born and raised on a North Dakota farm, attended a one room country school and moved away from home to attend high school. Graduated from North Dakota University in Fargo and went to work for Sherwin Williams/Dallas in 1939. He continued there for over 40 years until his retirement as Plant Manager of the Sherwin Williams Paint Manufacturing Plant/Garland in 1980. He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the US Air Force and was part of the Chemical Warfare Service during WWII. He was a faithful member of the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church since 1949 where he served as Elder, Chairman of the Christian Education Committee, Stewardship Committee, Benevolence and Planned Giving Committee and general “fix-it” man. Ross is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lois, son Tyce and daughter-in-law Linda, daughter Lynn Hammert and son-in-law Carl Hammert, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Survivors also include his brother Jack McLarty of California and sister Jean Jenner of Oregon.
