Ms. Rowena W Morrow's Obituary
Rowena Wham Morrow, was born on January 6, 1934 in Duncan OK and passed away March 12, 2023 in Dallas, TX. Rowena was preceded in Death by her husband Ross Edward Morrow, her parents, Ralph Edwin Wham and Mabel Irene Moore, and siblings Ralph Dwain Wham and Dale Edwin Wham. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Suzanne and Kenneth Kirklin, son and daughter-in-law Sampson and Michelle Morrow, grandsons Nathan Morrow, Christopher and his wife Anna Kirklin, Cooper and his wife Maggie Kirklin, Noah and his wife Gwyneth Morrow. Her sisters, Carolyn Collums, and Glenda and her husband Eddie Cooper, and brothers Steve and his wife Tammy Wham, Terry and his wife Claudette Wham, and many nieces and nephews, and 2 great grandsons.
Rowena was a graduate of Gainesville High School class of 1951. After graduation she moved to the big city of Fort Worth and began working at All Saints Hospital as a Medical Records clerk. Her colleagues at the time included 2 older ladies, Ann Griffith (Bud) and Homer Huey (Sweetie Face) who introduced her to their nephew, Ross, which began a 55 year marriage. They traveled the country while Ross worked for Hughes Aircraft, then lived in Austin, Oxford MS, and Greenville before eventually settling in Dallas in 1968. Rowena raised her two children, enjoyed knitting, sewing, quilting, reading, and visiting with family and friends. She took great pride in all her family.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 17, 2023 at 10 AM, in the Restland Wildwood Chapel. Reception following at the Restland Reception Center.
