Rowland C Lewis' Obituary
Rowland was born on July 23, 1926 to John Quincy Lewis and Winnie Irene Robertson Lewis in Greenville, TX. His siblings were Maxine Wray Collins, Hal Wray, Charles Lewis, and Jean Lewis. Rowland was raised on a farm during the Depression and served in World War II at an Air Force base in California as a cryptographer. Afterward, he attended the University of Texas in Austin and got a degree in pre-law. He was employed for many years by Liberty Mutual Insurance, and was gifted with business dealings and administration. He was a very personable and social man. He married Neeta Vee Ball in 1952, and had three children, Stephen Mark Lewis of Katy, TX, Merri Lynn Lewis of Sulphur Springs, TX, and David Rowland Lewis of Acworth, GA. He was preceded in death by his siblings and later his wife in 2012. He was a Christian and served in many positions at Lake Highlands United Methodist Church. He also was involved with numerous aspects of Boy Scouts for 30+ years. He took care of his family and was a generous man, and always had a funny quip. He went to be with His Savior on January 23, 2015. The visitation for Rowland Lewis will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015 from 6:00-8:00pm at Restland Funeral Home. The service for Rowland Lewis will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Restland Memorial Park at 10:00am with a memorial service at 1:00pm at Lake Highlands United Methodist Church.
