Roy Archibald Bailey's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Roy Archibald Bailey, who departed this life on September 2, 2025, in Rockwall, Texas, at the age of 86.
Roy was known for his infectious personality, hard work, and dedication to providing for his family. He was born and raised in English Harbour, Antigua, where he met his wife, Yvonne Gloria Fortune, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage.
Roy moved to New York, where he worked as a Maintenance Technician at Goody for 28 years. After retiring in 2004, he and Yvonne relocated to Texas, where he enjoyed his cherished retirement years surrounded by his neighbors, his son Roy Bailey Jr., and his grandchildren.
Roy is survived by his five children: Patsy Maithland, Fitzmore Bailey, Chaynne Bailey, Roy Bailey Jr., and Desmond Bailey. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Roy loved outdoor grilling and was a car enthusiast, but nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with his family, whether they were near or far.
Roy was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Rowlett, Texas, until declining health prevented him from attending services. He devoted his time and energy to his faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Desmond Bailey, and his mother, Keturah Clarke. He is survived by his sister, Ionie Scotland, and his brother, Winston Bailey.
