Roy was born on October 2, 1939, to Roy and Lucille Barz in Brookfield, IL. Roy met his
wife Maxine and went on to have 3 children: Lisa, Michelle and James.
Roy worked as s programmer at Fina Oil & Chemical for over 20 years. After retirement, he loved traveling with his wife on dive expeditions in the Caribbean, playing cribbage with his grandson, watching NCIS, enjoying his wife’s baking and spending time with his family.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Maxine, mother and father, Roy and
Lucille, son James Barz, brothers Jim, Allen and Doug Barz, and great granddaughter
Kayden Zuelly. Roy is survived by his two daughters Lisa Jaggers (husband Gary) and
Michelle Balak (husband Randy), sister Tina Darnell (husband Gary), grandchildren
Brittney Fischer (husband Jason), Kristin Zuelly (husband Jesse), Matthew Balak (wife
Deni), Erin Cuevas (husband Sam), Julie Mitchell (husband Alan), and great
grandchildren Hailey, Iris, Jesse, Frederick, Abigail, and Luke.
