Roy C. Cummings' Obituary
CUMMINGS, ROY C., of Campbell, Texas, passed into the arms of our Lord and was reunited with his loving wife on Wednesday, July 9, 2014. Roy was born August 2, 1914 to Louie Dean and Zettie Cummings, in Rockdale Texas, and enjoyed a full life 99 years, 11 months, and 7 days. Roy was preceded in death by his loving wife, Pearlie Cummings, one daughter, three sons, four brothers, and six sisters. Roy was a hard worker, who was willing to work as many jobs as necessary to provide for his family. This included jobs milking cows, picking cotton, cutting trees, masonry, fishing, digging wells, and making batteries in a factory. Roy often spoke of the difficult task of moving 100-lb lead balls all day to make batteries. Roy will be remembered with love by many, including one brother, one sister, seven sons, two daughters, 40 grandchildren, 102 great-grandchildren, 65 great-great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-great-grandchildren. Friends and family will be received Tuesday, July 15, 2014, between 6:00pm and 8:00pm, at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at 11:00am, in the Restland Memorial Chapel.
