Roy Derr's Obituary
Roy Atnip Derr of Dallas, Texas passed away peacefully on August 20, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Debbie Derr, and great-grandson Tripp Foster. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Faye Derr, sister Eula Willingham, daughter and son-in-law Pattie and Bill Foster, sons Larry Derr and his wife Stefanie, David Derr and his wife Chris, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Roy served honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII, and later retired after over 40 years with Southwestern Bell. He will be remembered for his great faith and love for his church and God, and his desire to bring others to Christ by promoting church sports programs. In his later years, he served his church family by organizing trips and activities for the senior adult groups. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 23rd at Restland Funeral Home, with services to be held Friday, August 24th at 10:00 A.M. at Restland’s Memorial Chapel.
