Roy Lorain Ferguson Jr.'s Obituary
Roy Lorain Ferguson Jr. of Dallas, Texas passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 30th, 2013 at Baylor Regional Medical Center in Plano. Born in Jackson, Tennessee, Roy and his wife, Dot, lived in Dallas, Texas for the last 50 years. Roy was a passionate man who enjoyed woodworking, classic cars, playing card games, walking and watching TV, especially western shows. Roy was extremely loving and proud of his family. He is survived by his sons, J.R. Ferguson and his wife, Lynn of Plano, Texas and Scott Ferguson and his wife, Loretta of Seattle, Washington. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Daniel, Paul, and Christopher Ferguson, his great- grandchildren, Kylie and Casey Ferguson, his brother Charlie Ferguson and his wife Sydna of Tulsa, Oklahoma, as well as his niece, Lisa Jayne and nephew, Rick Ferguson. Preceding Roy in death was his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Rice Ferguson (Dot) and his son, Roy L. Ferguson III. Roy lived a long and rewarding life. Roy served his country honorably through twenty-two years of service in the United States Air Force, which included many decorations for valor and accomplishment. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1963. Roy then worked as an Aerospace Executive at Ling-Temco-Vought and retired from Vought in 1985. Services for Roy will be held at the Abbey Chapel of Restland Memorial Home in Dallas, Texas on Thursday, December 5th at 12:00 pm. Roy will be laid to rest next to beloved wife.
