Greg was the youngest of four children and is survived by his older siblings Mark Holton, Gail Heintzelman, and Rhonda Halle in addition to their respective families.
Being the son of a military father Greg moved around quite frequently having lived in Oklahoma, Alabama and Germany. He attended Sam Houston State University receiving a degree In Teaching/Industrial Arts. He taught woodworking for 9 years before transitioning to a different career. While at Garland High School he took pride in driving the football team to their games.
His passion for engineering lead him to Ingersol Rand, opportunities at Texas Instruments and ultimately retiring from Raytheon in Tucson, Arizona. Life was an adventure for Greg for he loved the mountains and all the outdoor activities that Arizona afforded him. Upon retirement his wife drug him back to the good ole state of Texas to be near her parents. Especially to care for her ailing father. While living in Sulphur Springs he was honored to receive recognition on the Veterans Wall Memorial in the downtown square. You can find his name written in stone. His retirement hobbies included membership in the Convention of States project and the Republican Party where he would gladly hand you a pocket size version of the US Constitution. He also enjoyed spending time with his new granddaughter, as well as photography, travel, and woodworking. During the Covld lockdowns he and his daughter refinished a plant stand that he had originally constructed during his time as a teacher.
Greg will be missed by all who knew him. He loved meeting new people and never met a stranger.
