Roy Lee Price's Obituary
Mr. Roy Lee Price, age 73 of Garland, Texas, passed away peacefully and went to be with our Lord, Wednesday, September 25, 2019, in Fort Worth, Texas.Roy was born on July 30, 1946 to his loving and thoughtful parents Charles Price and Hester Johnson Price in Enid, Oklahoma. Roy grew up in Enid and graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1965. After high school Roy proudly served in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1967 where he achieved a rank of SNE-3 and worked dutifully as a Botswain’s Mate.After the Navy, Roy married the love of his life, Linda Jones on June 15, 1968 in Enid, Oklahoma. Roy then worked for the United States Postal Service for 17 years. Roy and Linda have three children, Tammy Dunn, Greg Price and Sheree Price-Rangel.Roy was an active participant in his church, serving in many roles as the church needed. In the early years, Roy assisted with construction projects, the bus ministry and prepared communion. Roy went on to serve at the church Christmas tree lot and became the Sunday School Superintendent. Roy continued to serve in the church throughout his years and ended his days as an usher at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. Roy made sure to live his life as a servant of the Lord and led his family to do the same.Roy is survived by his spouse Linda Price, his daughter Tammy Dunn his son Gregory Price and his daughter Sheree Price-Rangel. His two grandchildren Sarah Dunn and Colin Dunn. His two sons-in-law, Brent Dunn and Joseph Rangel and his daughter-in-law Laura Price. His brothers Paul Price (Sheri) and Charles Price (Linda). His sisters Martha Appel, Alice Sparks (Ken), Grace Watters and Becky Price.Roy is preceded in death by his brothers Harold Price, Thomas Price, David Price and his sister Trena Shaw.Roy will be sincerely missed by his loving family, his devoted friends and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved him.The funeral service for Roy is scheduled for Monday September 30, 2019 at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano at 10:00 am.Funeral arrangements for Roy have been faithfully entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery in Dallas.
