Royce was my father Ray Helton's 1st cousin. They got into much mischief while growing up in Levelland. Daddy had a brotherly fondness for Royce and they remained great friends throughout their lives. Royce was quite a tease but I loved visiting with him.

Just saw this notice. Royce was a good friend of my father, Sam Jones (from Brownfield). Due to health reasons, my parents moved to Plano a few years ago. Royce reached out to my Dad. He involved him in his monthly lunch meeting of old guys from the theater business. It was a real joy for my Dad. I enjoyed attending a few of those sessions. I will always appreciate Royce and Jan for their friendship with my parents. Royce and his wonderful sense of humor will be greatly missed.
