Ruby Gaudreau Beene's Obituary
Ruby was born August 12, 1925 to Jack and Viola Day in Dallas, Texas. She was the eldest of nine children. On November 13, 2014 Ruby was called home to be with Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Ruby was affectionately known as “Mom” to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and lovingly as “Aunt Ruby” to an extended family of nieces and nephews. Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Jack Day, Jr. and David Campbell, and sisters Maxine Reynolds, Lillian McCasland and Walterine Holton. Ruby is survived by her children, Wayne Gaudreau and his wife, Anita, of Greenville, TX, Dee Morton of Dallas, TX, Janet Tucker and her husband, Frank of McKinney, TX; grandchildren Jack Ross, Jeff Ross, Laura Norman, Becky Kline, Kelly Gaudreau, Jana Burrus, Kristin Bell, Connie Gaudreau, Tim Gaudreau. Allen Gaudreau and ten great grandchildren. Ruby is also survived by her sisters, Barbara Fain of Dallas, TX, Jane Smith of Greenville, TX, and Priscilla Green of McKinney, TX. Ruby married her childhood sweetheart, Louis Gaudreau in 1944, and lived in Miami, FL for a time after WWII. She returned to Dallas in 1947 to make a home and raise her family. Ruby was a devoted wife, mother, homemaker and real estate investor, as well. She found time for everyone and everything in her life. After losing Louis in 1978 to illness, Ruby married Dalton Beene in 1983 and enjoyed 17 years of happiness with their families and friends. Ruby was a Christian who followed the Golden Rule all through her life and was rewarded with many close family ties and life-long friends. A truly sweet lady, she bestowed her loving kindness on all who met and knew her. Ruby will be greatly missed, but will forever know the Glory of God and the Love of Jesus Christ in Heaven. Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 pm, Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. Service for Ruby will take place at 11:00 am, Monday, November 17, 2014 at The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75238.
