Ms. Ruby Jean Browder's Obituary
Age102, died October 18, 2007. Funeral services at 10 am, October 22, 2007, Wildwood Chapel, Restland Memorial Park, Dallas, Texas. Rev. David Fletcher officiating. Interment at Restland. Ruby was born January 21, 1905, in Neshoba County, Mississippi, to Oscar and Tempe Putnam. The family moved to Texas and on October 20, 1926, she married Joe L. Browder. She was employed at Neiman Marcus and retired as Director of the Carrollton Recreation Center. She continued living independently in her Carrollton home until she was 99 1/2 years of age. Ruby’s greatest joy was her family of eight children, 21 grand-children, 19 great- grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, as well as the husbands and wives they brought into the family. She was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Carrollton and a member of the Mary Isham Keith Chapter of the Daughters of The American Revolution. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sisters, her daughter Mariellen Browder Farris, son, Dr. James Thomas Browder, grandson, David Browder, and granddaughter, Jan Browder. Survivors include sons, Robert H. Browder and wife Betsy, Bennie G. Browder, Gerald H. Browder, Lyle M. Browder and wife Diane; daughters, Wilma Jo Putteet and Charlotte French and husband Philip; 19 grandchildren;19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and many special friends. Ruby will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
