EPPERSON, RUBY ETHEL JACKSON born June 25, 1918 in Clarksville, Texas has passed away October 15, 2013 in Dallas, Texas. She was the daughter of William Henry and Rose Esther Roberts (King) Jackson, of whom preceded her in death. Also preceded in death by her siblings: Laura Jones, Lindsey Busby, James Lee, Carrie Lee, Sennie Bogan, Elvaney Jackson, Mary Ann Harris, Gladys Young, Juanita Burk and Rose Esther Maynor. Ruby is survived by her daughters, Gloria Miles and Carol Epperson; grandchildren: Edmond Miles, Jon Milses, Sr., Ramona King, Bernard Hodge, Teresa Armstrong and husband, Derrick, Jamie Cartwright, and Julie Hodge White Brown; 29 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. She was a member of Lily of the Valley, Clarksville, TX at an early age, St. John Baptist Church, Dallas, TX, Jr. Missionary Society Youth Leader at St. Luke Baptist Church, Dallas, TX, gospel choir, and the garden club. Her activities included Tejas Council, Girl Scout Troop 800, co-leader with her daughter, Gloria Miles in Dallas, TX for 12 years and she was the area cookie manager for 10 years. Ruby was a domestic engineer: private homes in Dallas, TX; DISD-Alex W. Spence (retired), Dallas, TX and Texas Instruments on Lemmon Ave in Dallas, TX. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, October 18, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Walnut Hill United Methodist Church.
