Ruby Lee Fikes' Obituary
FIKES, RUBY LEE was born April 3rd in El Dorado, Arkansas to the late Shirley Mae Fikes. Ruby attended Booker T. Washington High School in El Dorado. She graduated magna-cum-laude from Northwood University in Cedar Hill, Texas with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management. Ruby relocated to Dallas in 1971 to start a new beginning. She had a satisfying career of 20 plus years at Dresser Industries Dallas/Halliburton. Her most recent employer was ACS, A Xerox Company. She was a Senior Tax Associate, International Tax. Ruby was an outgoing and fun loving person who enjoyed sharing time with her family and friends. She worked in various ministries at Cornerstone Baptist Church during her membership of 21 years. She served as an Usher for many years, was an active member of the Women’s D Sunday School Class where she served as class secretary, and was a faithful member of the Counting Committee. Ruby enjoyed serving her community and helping others as a former member of the SETC Early Risers. Ruby went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 4, 2011. She is preceded in death by her mother Shirley Mae Fikes, Aunt Laddie and Uncle Charlie Blake, and Aunt Seenie Mae and Uncle Sambo Reynolds. She leaves to cherish her memory her son Antony Fikes (Sharmaine) of Garland, Texas; brother James Williams (Sharon) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; grand-daughter Mason Fikes of Garland, Texas; two nieces, two nephews, cousin Jerry Fikes (Grather B.) and a host of other relatives and friends.
