Ruby Crisco Hill's Obituary
Ruby Crisco Hill, a long-time resident of the Rowlett area, died on New Year’s Day at 95 years young.She leaves behind her only daughter, Yuvonne Hill Ayers and her husband Tony. She also leaves three grandsons and their families: Greg Garrison and wife Kristen, Bryon Garrison and wife Ginnifer and Cory Garrison with his wife Christina. She also has six great-grandchildren: Lauren, Landry, Emmerson, Landon, Graham and Noah Garrison.Born on August 31, 1922 in Delark, Arkansas, Ruby was the daughter of Tommie and Bertie Crisco and the middle child of nine other siblings. She was married to Herschel L. Hill, the love of her life, on September 22, 1949 for 23 wonderful years. After his early death on June 10, 1971, Ruby went on to work for 15 years at Mobil Oil/Exxon-Mobil as an accounts payable clerk and retired on April 1, 1987.Ruby had a passion for art, music and travel. Throughout her lifetime, she created several paintings which are now displayed and adored by her family. On one of her many trips, she visited The Sistine Chapel and often spoke of the extraordinary art displayed there. She often shared vacations with her grandsons as they grew up – taking them on special summer trips which created many of their fondest childhood memories.She was strong and credible in her beliefs of religion, finances, and work ethics. She was affectionately known as “Meme” and “The Beautiful Ruby” to her family and was proud to be a Christian and longtime member of Lake Pointe Church in Rockwall. She passed those beliefs on to her family with a quick wit and dignity as only she could. She is unconditionally loved and will be tremendously missed.Visitation for Ruby will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Restland Funeral Home. The funeral service for Ruby will be at 3:00 PM on Friday, January, 5, 2018 at The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.The family request in lieu of flowers that condolences be sent as a donation in honor of Ruby to: Christian Care Center- The Courtyard Assisted Living- 950 Wiggins Pkwy., Mesquite, Texas, 75150 to support the continued care of those still enduring the battle with dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.
