Ruby Aldredge Manley's Obituary
Ruby Aldredge Manley passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at the age of 105.She was a graduate of Jacksonville Baptist College and taught grammar school for a period follow graduation. A resident of Lufkin, Texas, until 1993, she was employed by Moore Grocery Company in 1942. The firm was acquired by Brookshire Brothers, Inc. in 1953 and she was an employee of Brookshire’s until her retirement in 1979.She was active in Southern Baptist churches in the Lufkin area in capacities including, Training Union director, Bible School teacher and church organist.Ruby moved to Dallas in 1993 and joined Prestonwood Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Faith Bible Class.She is survived by her daughter, Dolores Manley of Dallas, and by nephews, nieces and cousins in the Manley, Aldredge and Dias families.Ruby was a guiding light to all who knew her – her worth was “far above rubies.” (Proverbs 31:10) and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, beginning at 11:00AM, in Restland Cemetery.
