Ruby Nell Markle's Obituary
Memorial services for Ruby Nell Markle will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Royal Lane Baptist Church. Ruby Nell was born July 3, 1928 in Wagner, South Carolina and passed away April 30, 2017 following a long time illness. A beautiful, talented woman who lived a full life as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her husband, George Henry Markle was lost to her on October 10, 2006. She was a medical technician by training but flourished as a prolific multi-media artist in her adult life. Over the years as a student of fine arts, Nel developed a unique style of her own ranging from canvas, hand-made paper, oil and acrylics, and collages. Her techniques covered inspirations from nature and inspired abstract impressions in relation to the pure beauty of color, shape, and motion. She was active in local and national art organizations during her prolific career, her church, and hospice. She is survived by daughters, Donna Kaye Inks and Karen Lee Spivey; son, George Kim Markle; granddaughters, Kimberly Rose Peterson and Angela Kaye Inks-Chavez and grandsons, Adam Jeffrey Inks and Keith Edward Markle;3 great-grandsons, Cole Christopher Peterson and Samuel Howley Peterson and Logan Donald Markle; great-granddaughter, Summer Iris Markle. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
