Ruby Mae Pendergrass' Obituary
Ruby M. Pendergrass, age 91, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on December 7, 2017. She was born in Florence, Alabama to Joe M. Richards and Eddie Mae Pittman Richards.Ruby was a 25 year members of Daughters of the Nile, and spent many years working with Ladies of the Dallas Elks Lodge, where she was an avid member of their Line Dancers Group until age 85. Ballroom dancing was another great passion for Ruby.Ruby was married for 71 years to the love of her life, Marlon P. Pendergrass. She is survived by her three children, Carole Smith (spouse Dennis Smith), Charlotte Bailey (widow of Claire E. Bailey), and Dennis Pendergrass (spouse Deborah); Grandchildren, Leanne Baker, Paul Horvath, Matthew Sanders, Wesley Sanders, Dennis Pendergrass Jr., and Rachael Pendergrass Bigelow, as well as numerous great-grandchildren.In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to the charity of your choice.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75238.The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Restland Funeral Home.Services will take place at 2:30PM on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
