Rueben Boyce Mitchell, age 77, of Katy, Texas passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2019.Rueben was born on February 15, 1942 to his parents: William Rickman Mitchell and Mary Ellen Mitchell in Wellington, Texas. He married Mary Catherine Gravitt on May 11, 1965 in Dallas, Texas. Rueben was an entrepreneur of many things and started his career off as a type set printer, then owned his own tire shop business, became a glass installer for high rise office buildings and finished his career off in air conditioning. During retirement he made a career out of fishing and spending time with his family. He was a proud member of the Masons and Clay Road Baptist Church. He proudly served in the US Army for 3 years as a Sergeant.Rueben Boyce Mitchell will be forever missed by his beloved family, including his wife of 54 years, Mary Mitchell of Katy, Texas; son, Gary Mitchell and wife, Doylene Posey of Arlington, Texas daughters: Tina Holmes and husband Gary, of Cypress, TX and Teresa Young and husband, Jimmy of Grand Prairie, Texas; granddaughter, Jessica and Schuyler Hart of Naperville, Illinois, granddaughter, Kristen and Jason McGee of Grand Prairie, Texas, granddaughter, Elizabeth and Rick Flores of Kemah, Texas, Grandson, Ray and Lindsey Steward of Armuchee, Georgia, granddaughter, Katherine and Robby Stahmer of Katy, Texas; brother, James Mitchell and wife, Lucia of Pharr, Texas; sister, Marilyn Kay Mullins of Omaha, Texas; brother, Hoyt Mitchell and wife,Carrie of Richmond, Washington; 19 great grandchildren and many other loving family and friends.The family of Rueben Boyce Mitchell will receive visitors from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2019 in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
