Rufus was very special to Julie and to me. He was always a shining light that we were drawn to at every real estate meeting he attended. He was so very kind and gracious to Julie in all their conversations. She always looked forward to visiting with him. He was a model to me of how a true gentleman conducted himself. Rufus was the kind of man that we all need to emulate, kind, gental & never over reactive. I remember his coming to our wedding at a church in rural Collin County & while there, he sceached the church & its landscape. Sometime later he gave us a wonderful painting of his memories. What a guy!
Mary Frances and Rufus Burleson have been our friends as long as we have been married. Mary Frances was one of our bridesmaids when we married at Church of the Incarnation in 1953. She caught my bouquet and was the next one married, to Rufus. We have both had long and happy marriages and I wish we could have spent more time together. Even if we live in the same area, we didn't get together often. Busy schedules and health issues. May Rufus rest in peace and light perpetual shine upon him.
