BURGESS, RUSSELL WILLIAM Age 87, of Plano, TX passed away peacefully on October 5, 2011 at home. He was born on March 21, 1924 in Eaton Rapids, MI to his parents, Glenn Arthur and Eula. Russell was the youngest of 4. He married Meredith in Oakland, CA on March 21, 1948. They had 2 children. He served in the Navy for 11 years and served in World War II, earning 1st Class Seaman. He was a longtime resident of Plano, TX and owned Burgess Inspection Group, Inc. for the past 40 years. Russell was a member of Adat Chavarime Temple. He enjoyed cruising, fishing and relaxing with family. Russell will be remembered by his children, Rosie and husband, Mark Barris; their children, Gary Greenwald and Michael Barris; Glenn Burgess and his wife, Pier and children, Russell, Nichole and Peter Burgess. Russell had 5 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Meredith Elaine Burgess; sister, Neola Bosworth and brother, Howard Burgess. Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service for Russell at 10 am on Friday, October 7 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Association.
