Russell Franklin Lawson's Obituary
Russell Franklin Lawson, loving father, and devoted husband passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 7th with his family by his side. Born September 21, 1941, in Dallas Tx, Russ is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Lois Lawson. He is survived by his wife, Suzi, his two daughters, Stacy McKay and her husband Mark, Kelly Harvey and her husband Paul, his three grandchildren Duff, Brigg, and Margaret Ann; his sister Bobbie Duff Rowland; Rick and Shelia Field, as well as several nieces and nephews. Russ was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas and attended The University of Texas at Arlington where he studied business. He proudly served in the US Army in the 101st Airborne Division and was a member of A.C. Garrett Masonic Lodge, 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason (Valley of Dallas) for over 50 years. Further, Russ was also a member of Hella Shrine Temple, Dallas, and was a fourth generation male in his family to serve as a Freemason. His distinguished career spanned nearly a half century in the chemical industry, as a water treatment specialist at NCH Corp., where he was well respected for his all-encompassing knowledge, combined with outstanding values of integrity and character. Russ was an avid hunter and fisherman, who loved to read history books and watch old westerns. This was superseded by his favorite hobby, which was spending time with his family, whether it was with his beloved wife of 49 years Suzi, his daughters or watching his grandchildren play sports. A memorial service will be held at Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home on Friday, March 10th at 12:30 pm.
