Rusty Massey was a leader in the Terrell High School Fighting Tiger Band in the mid and late 1980's. In the fall of 1987, Rusty and his fellow senior band members led the band to the very first superior (I) rating in the school's history at UIL Marching Band Competition. The 1988 Tiger Band set the bar high for future Tiger bands, and numerous UIL superior ratings and sweepstakes awards followed as the band grew and steadily improved in later years. Rusty's Tiger Band family of brothers and sisters will always remember him as a cheerful, helpful and dependable friend as well as a solid musician. He fully understood the value of leading by example, and he modeled that character on a daily basis. His example of leadership was an impactful contribution to the success of the band program, and I thank him for that. To his family and friends, I pray that God's peace will comfort you and surround you with love. Dana Skelton Band Director (1982-2000) Terrell High School
