I met Grandpa Russell for the first time Easter of 2003. I was fortunate enough to find the heart of one of his many wonderful grandchildren, which allowed me to meet such a great and loved man, Mr. Russell Mueller. The first words he said to me were, "You better take care of my granddaughter". I assured him I would, and then he and I began one of the longest conversations I have ever had! We both shared so many similarities which laid the foundation to such an exciting and uplifting conversation. We both liked the waters, and sailing, so he would share with me some of his fondest memories of being captain, of how he would sail his boat on the "waters of glass" as he would call them. He shared with me of the times that he worked on aircraft engines and how intrigued he was by the power and sophistication of the engines in "yesterday's" aviation. He was a man that truly loved life and wasn't afraid to express it. He was always willing to answer questions and always available if you needed him. As you hoist your sails and set your bearing straight to Heaven's pearly gates you will be missed, Brad Smith, Husband of granddaughter Joy Smith, and daughter of Joan Bailey
