Ruth V. Allen's Obituary
Ruth Virginia Allen, age 98, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, in Dallas, Texas.
Ruth was a Catholic girl, born and raised in Cleveland Ohio. After marrying, they lived in several cities and then settled in Dallas, Texas in 1966.
After raising her children, Ruth worked at the American Heart Association and then part time at various markets at the Apparel Mart and World Trade Center in Dallas.
Her interests and hobbies were everywhere. Golfing, bowling, sewing, knitting, bridge, card and board games, ping pong, Jazzercize exercise class, painting, drawing, and arts and crafts. Also, she went camping and boating with the 3M families.
At the Texas State Fair, Ruth won a 1st place ribbon one year for an afghan she knitted.
Ten years ago, at age 88, she was featured in the local Lake Highlands Advocate magazine with stories about golfing, playing ping-pong, and her weekly participation in the Richland College Emeritus program. Also, there are other life stories in that article.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Allen, and her sister Jane Hagan
She will be missed by her loving family, devoted friends, and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved her.
Ruth is survived by daughter, Cheryl McClendon; son, Terry Allen and wife Karen Allen; three grandsons, Michael McClendon, Everett Allen, and Garrett Allen. She was also close to her nephew Kevin, and her nieces Lauren and Janice.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00PM on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 9643 Ferndale Road, Dallas, Texas 75238.

Inurnment will take place at Restland Memorial Park, Dallas Texas
