Ruth Marie Beam's Obituary
BEAM, RUTH MARIE BLOOM Born May 28, 1930 in New Brighton, PA to Aaron and Lena Bloom. She went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2012 after a brave battle with cancer. Ruth lived in Dallas most of her life and had recently moved to Denton. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Norma Siar. Survivors include her husband and best friend of 58 years, Newton Cameron “Bubba” Beam and their 3 children, Eric Beam of Sanger and wife Sharon, Susan Linch of Mesquite, and Lisa Patton of Sanger and husband Lendal; 4 grandchildren, Austin and Brodie Beam and Kyle and Marshall Patton; brother, Bob Bloom in Florida and wife Audree along with 5 nieces and 4 nephews. Their marriage was an example of true love and dedication. They met in Bermuda and were married 4 months later. Newton remained devoted to Ruth during their blessed marriage and took care of Ruth during her illness. Ruth applied her Christian faith in every aspect of life by serving others including volunteer work with the National Parkinson Foundation. She cherished the time with her grandchildren and liked to read, bake, sew, travel and needlepoint and also loved ping pong. Over the years, Ruth stayed in touch with her Langley High School friends and took a cruise in 2010 with several of them. She was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church in Richardson until their move to Denton in 2011. Ruth continued to have a great sense of humor and was loved by everyone she met. She will be truly missed by her family and friends. Visitation will be from 6:00PM – 8:00PM, Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Restland Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held at 12:30PM, Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Restland Memorial Chapel with Dr. Carl Anderson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or National Parkinson Foundation.
