Ruth Jane was a wonderful lady who will be sorely missed by the Orchard Beach community where she spent many summers at the family cottage. I will miss the handwritten, in cursive, of course, notes and letters, often with favorite quotations, which she and I shared. The flag at Orchard Beach was lowered to half-mast for several days last week and, as the Orchard Beach “matriarch”, she will be remembered at the annual Fourth of July celebration in 2022.
