I was saddened to read Ruth's obituary and to find out she had struggled with illness the last few years. She was a charming lady. My parents, Joe and Anne West, enjoyed getting to know her through Fred. My father was in the shoe business with Fred, amid my mother was a cousin of his first wife. We were so thrilled when Ruth and Fred found each other. Your mother made Fred very happy and she enriched his life.
