Ruth Dorothy Homer's Obituary
Homer, Ruth Dorothy was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on October 23, 1927 to Edward and Minna Glander and died peacefully surrounded by her children on April 27, 2013 at the age of 85. She graduated from Passaic High School in New Jersey and worked in New York City before marrying Howard Homer in 1950. In 1965 they relocated to Richardson, Texas. She became the school secretary for Zion Lutheran School in 1968. In 1978 she took a job in the accounts payable department at Frito Lay where she worked until she retired in 1988. She made the most of her retirement, visiting her children, doting on her grandchildren and traveling around the globe. Ruth was predeceased by her loving husband, Howard Homer who died in 1976 and her four sisters, Margaret, Dorothy, Evelyn and Edna. She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Smith and by her three children, David Homer and wife Kathy, Gail Seay and husband Douglas and Janis Loegering and husband Weston. She was blessed with six adoring grandchildren, Emily, Jacob and Lucas Homer, Maggie Seay, and Rebecca and Warren Loegering. A memorial service will be held for Ruth at 11:00 AM on Saturday May 4, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church, 6121 E. Lovers Lane, Dallas, Texas.
