Ruth Lucille Keefer's Obituary
Ruth was born November 6, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Frank and Esther Keefer. She died June 3, 2009 in Dallas, Texas. Ruth grew up in Rahway, New Jersey and then received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Maryville College in Tennessee. After receiving her degree she worked as a chemist with Johnson & Johnson for several years. She then went on to obtain a Master of Library Science degree from Florida State University. In 1966, she moved to Dallas where she joined the library staff at the Mobil Research & Development Corp. FRL. She worked as a Literature Specialist providing research assistance for the scientists, and retired after 30 years with MRDC. She is survived by a cousin, Richard Keefer of Florida and a host of friends who will dearly miss her. Ruth was an accomplished painter, and loved music and her pets. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the SPCA of Dallas, the American Diabetes Association or other charity of your choice.
