I don't know where to begin about my memories of Ruth. My very best friend, Serri, and I had the most enjoyable times ever! I guess my fondest memory of Ruth was sitting in the back seat of the car when we were in Coronodo, Ca. back in our teenage days. Neil Diamond, "Cracklin' Rosey" was playing and watching Ruth's head bopping up and down to the tune was priceless!! I love her and will miss her dearly. I ended up wanting to live in California from those wonderful times in Coronodo! Ruth was my second Mom in those days and will never forget all of those times! We'll miss her! There was nothing better than going over to the River's for dinner on a Sunday. Ruth was the greatest cook and you always knew that you'd have a great dinner and enjoy a wonderful time. The times that I spent with The River's are probably my most favorite memories about growing up in Colorado. They showed me so much and made such an impact on who I am today. My favorite memeory of Ruth is of course all the times she gave in and said I could go skiing to Vail the day after Christmas! I always knew I was going to get to go but I had to wait and get the final ok from her. The funniest memory is when the two of us were stuck on "Showboat" and she thought we were going to have to wait until Spring thaw to get down the mountain. I remember seeing Wade, Shelley, and Serri at the bottom of the hill waving to us. We were both pissed and scared at the same time. I only got mad at her once and that was when she hid the can of fudge from me.. I guess she knew I would eat it all. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Ruth River was one of a kind and we are all blessed to have known her and had her in our lives. She will truly be missed. Love, Tom Johnson San Diego
