Ruth Marie Shriner's Obituary
Ruth Marie Shriner of Richardson, Texas, age 73, passed away on May 13, 2015. Ruth was born in Brush, Colorado, August 14, 1941. She graduated from Brush High School in 1959. Ruth was married to John Shriner on June 6, 1964 they celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2014. Ruth loved her short career as a stewardess for Western Airlines which, due to rules at the time, she had to give up when she married John. She was an active Air Force wife and mother during John’s time in the Air Force. They lived in Alabama and California and she had to take care of one-year-old Natalie while John was in Southeast Asia for a year. After 1969 she and John lived most of the time in Richardson, Texas. She was active in crafts, tennis and quilting. She was a member of multiple quilting groups which she greatly enjoyed. Ruth is survived by her husband John Shriner; daughter Natalie Shriner and sister Shirley Brown. Ruth is preceded in death by her mother Nancy Thurman and brother Donald Thurman. In accordance with Ruth Shriner’s request, there will be no services. Please do not give memorial gifts or donations.
