Ruth Lee Stevenson's Obituary
Ruth L. Stevenson, 95, of Greenville, Texas, formerly of Garland, Texas, passed away on March 6, 2023.
Ruth was born February 12, 1928 in Rockett, Texas, the daughter of Harvey Burt & Ida Mae (Macguire) Reddell.
Ruth married Prentis O. Stevenson on March 16, 1946 in Kaufman, TX.
Remaining to cherish Ruth’s memory are three children, Charles (Chuck) P. Stevenson (wife Gail), Billy W. Stevenson (wife Lorenda); David Stevenson (wife Lynny), daughter-in-law Alice Reyna; grandchildren, Adam Stevenson (wife Michelle), Matt Stevenson (wife Nicole), Becky Stevenson, Debbie Stevenson (husband Derek), Connie Stevenson, Christy Davis, Tracy Stevenson, Joshua Stevenson (wife Maureen), Austin Stevenson, Jonathan Stevenson, & Shelly Stevenson Marlow (husband Chris); Teresa B. Andrews (niece), and 22 great-grandchildren plus 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding Ruth in death are husband Prentis O. Stevenson; children, Troy M. Stevenson; parents, Harvey and Ida Mae Reddell; brothers, Larry Reddell, Billy Reddell & Kenneth Reddell.
The greatest joy in Ruth’s life was raising her four boys and loving all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She picked cotton for her father in the 1930’s; worked for Micropac Industries in Garland, TX where she worked on a guidance system for the lunar module that landed on the moon; and later worked at Marlow Industries in Garland, TX and while there the company won the Malcolm Baldridge Award in 1991 for promoting improved quality of goods and services in U.S. companies and organizations. Ruth was an avid bookworm and loved to be able to travel through books to far away places.
