Ruth Wallace's Obituary
Ruth Aleana (Streun) Wallace, 84, passed away on July 24, 2015 at Broward Nursing Home in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She was born July 5, 1931 in Mt. View, Oklahoma to Steve and Irene Streun. She grew up in Midland Texas, and attended Pasadena College in California from 1949 to 1951. She was married to Lynn Wallace from 1951 to 1998. Ruth spent most of her life living in the Dallas, Texas area. She retired from CB Fleet Co. after a long and successful career, receiving several marketing and sales awards. Ruth later worked part-time for Sam’s Wholesale Club, simply because she loved helping people. Ruth was a devoted believer in Jesus Christ, and grew in her relationship with Jesus as a member of Christian Life Cathedral and Valley View Christian Church in Dallas, until her failing health required her relocation to Ft Lauderdale, Florida to be closer to family. She was a lady who loved life, a friend to everyone she met, and she enjoyed spending special times with her family and friends. She is survived by three sons: David Wallace of Florida, Nathan Wallace and wife Cindy of Alabama, Michael Wallace and wife Beth of North Carolina. One sister: Mary Kirk. Five brothers: Joe and wife Frances, Charles and wife Geree, Grady MacArthur and wife Dorcas, Sam and wife Beverly, and Don and wife Judy. Grandchildren: Jonathan Wallace, Nicolas Wallace, Matthew Wallace, Brian Wallace, and Daniel Wallace. Two Step-Grandsons: James Williams and Nicholas McClure. Former husband: Lynn Wallace. Former daughters-in-law: Joyce Wallace and Marci Wallace. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, August 4, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243, with Pastor Joe Bailey officiating.
