Sabrina Kay Ross' Obituary
Sabrina Kay Ross, age 55, of Garland, Texas, died June 4, 2023.
Sabrina was born in Dallas, to Carol and Gordon Smythe. She graduated from South Garland High School. Sabrina graduated from Texas Woman's University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Sabrina loved working with children, so she chose to be a pediatric nurse at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas. When Medical City Dallas opened their new pediatric hospital, Sabrina chose to move to Medical City. During this time Sabrina married and had two sons.
Sabrina wanted to spend more time with her family so she became a school nurse and accepted a position at Southgate Elementary School in Garland. Even when complications of diabetes forced her to leave her position as school nurse, Sabrina, along with her seeing-eye dog, Nifty, wanted to be involved and help others, so she became a Diabetes Educator for the State of Texas for nine years until health failed her.
Sabrina is survived by her sons, Billy Christopher Ross and Kevin Michael Ross; her mother, Carol Smythe; her brother, Michael Smythe, wife Kelley, and their children, Connor and McKenna, and an uncle, Jimmy Gilbert, and Robert Spence.
Services will be held on Friday, June 9, at South Garland Baptist Church, 1330 Centerville Road, Garland Texas. The family invites you to come share with each other at 1:00 p.m. followed by the service at 2:00 p.m.
