Sadie Louise Newton's Obituary
NEWTON, SADIE LOUISE 85, of Carrollton, TX passed away Sunday, September 11, 2011. She was born in Leflore, Oklahoma, on December 23, 1925, to the Reverend Houston Grayson and Rachel Faulkner Grayson. She married Haskel Norman Newton on February 19, 1944. Sadie and Haskel were parted by his death after 53 years of marriage on May 8, 1997. They lost their son, Douglas Norman Newton at age 30 on August 26, 1977. Sadie reunited with Haskel and Doug upon her death. Sadie is survived by Doug’s two children, Jeffrey Newton and Ivy Holcomb (husband Kenny, children Tyler, Chaz and Chloe); her daughter, Penny Long (husband Larry, children Braden Long (wife Kim, daughters, Chloe and Bre), and Allison Long (son Parker); daughter, Gina Menendez (husband Dan, son’s Darren (wife Samantha, daughter Elizabeth), and Zack (wife Dana, daughter Kelly); sister, Virginia Loving of California and many nieces and nephews. Sadie was preceded in death by sisters, Laverne Shepherd and Cora Scherer. Sadie enjoyed singing in the church, Bible study, cooking and spending time with her family. Her strong, loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the staff of Esperanza, the nurses of Vitas Hospice and Care Staff, for the loving care they provided our mother and grandmother. Service will be held 9:30 am, Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at Restland Abbey Chapel.
