Sallie Ruth Brenner's Obituary
Sallie Ruth Brenner (née Meador), 68, of Garland, Texas, peacefully passed away at home on October 20, 2023.
Born on July 22, 1955, in Odessa, Texas, to Norman Meador and Mary Ruth Meador Boone, Sallie graduated from Arlington Heights High School in the class of 1973. Her life was brimming with warmth, compassion, and an enduring love for all.
Sallie found immense joy in life's simple pleasures—singing, tending to her garden, and expressing her creativity through sewing and crafting. Her caring nature and quick, witty humor endeared her to everyone she encountered. A committed advocate for seniors, she volunteered with the Visiting Nurses Association and later assumed the role of Activities Director for assisted living facilities, spreading joy wherever she went.
Sallie is survived by her husband of 43 years, Daniel Brenner, and their daughters—Tara Brenner, Sarah Brenner (and her husband Jason McElweenie), and Katie Brenner. Grandchildren—Ian and Anthony Selman, and Eleanor Broyles—were her constant source of joy and laughter. Sallie is also survived by her brothers, Bob Meador and Daniel Meador, and a host of extended family and friends.
The enduring love story between Sallie and Daniel illuminated their lives, creating a path adorned with shared laughter, cherished moments, and unwavering companionship.
Sallie was preceded in death by her parents, Norman Meador and Mary Ruth Meador Boone, and her older sister, Olive Meador Calhoun.
A memorial service to celebrate Sallie's life will be held on December 9, 2023, at 10:00 am at Restland in Dallas, Wildwood Chapel. All who knew and loved Sallie are warmly invited to attend.
