Sally Burnley's Obituary
Sarah Wiley Burnley passed away June 24, 2017 in Denton, TX due to complications related to Alzheimer’s. She was born on April 11, 1926 to Elgin, Sr. and Charlotte (Parkman) Dunnington in Washington, D.C. She was 91 years of age. She married Edwin F. Burnley on March 29, 1948 in Tacoma Park, MD. Sally served as an administrative assistant for 27 years. During that time, she served the Dean of School of Nursing at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN and at the Association for Higher Education in Richardson, TX. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her two devoted children, Pamela B. Burnley–Schol and husband Don of Argyle, TX and son, Christopher L. Burnley and wife Theresa of Amherst, NH; daughter-in-law, Sarah Huff Burnley of Knoxville, TN; five grandchildren, Rebecca Burnley Schilling, Blake Burnley, Alex Burnley, Foster Burnley and Mark Schol; and two great-grandchildren, Ist Lt. Laney Schol and Tommy Schol. She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin F. Burnley and son, Charles Stuart Burnley. A graveside service will be held for Sally at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Restland Memorial Park in the Garden of Faith. Mother Catherine Thompson will officiate. Arrangements are under the care of Restland Funeral Home located at 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
