Sally Eva Metheny's Obituary
Sally Eva Metheny, 81, of Dallas, TX died on January 23, 2018 in Dallas, TX. She was born on February 12, 1936 to Knox Greene and Minnie Greene in Hopkins County, TX. She married Lewis Metheny, Sr. on November 30, 1955 in Dallas, TX. She was a homemaker and started the family business with her husband, Lewis Metheny, in 1961. She is survived by; her sons; Lewis Metheny Jr., and wife Suzanne; Christopher Metheny; Andrew Metheny and wife Katie, her daughter, LuAnn Gill and husband David, Grandchildren; Lauren Gray and husband Leon; Bryan Gill and fiancé Leslie; Margaret Metheny; Sally Gill; Mary Grace Metheny; Vivian Metheny; Lucy Metheny and great-grandchildren; Zake Gray and Brylee Gill. Sally was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many. She enjoyed playing dominoes, painting, crossword puzzles, slot machines, sewing, gardening, fishing, calligraphy, and a good cup of coffee with something sweet. She always loved to learn new things especially to help her children. For example, she taught herself to read stenography, and held positions from bookkeeper all the way to president of the family business. She was a Woodrow Wilson graduate and always enjoyed attending alumni functions. But most of all, she enjoyed sitting on the back porch laughing and loving on her family. In her most recent days, her favorite thing to do was to be outside on a sunny day at White Rock Lake enjoying the warmth of the sun on her face and watching the sail boats go by. Her spirit will be impossible to forget and will live on forever. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Restland Abbey Chapel
